The Rosy Russula- "Russula rosea"- are a large and brightly colored species that commonly dots the forest in autumn. Their pink caps glow like misplaced springtime flowers in the damp woods. Last year I found them fruiting among the stout brown King Boletes, looking like quite an odd couple!

This listing is for one large sculpture featuring three Rosy Russula mushrooms bursting from a bed of forest moss and pine needles. I have created with a variety of wools and specialty locks that represent the textural variety of the forest habitat. Wool wrapped wire pine needles and sporophytes of waxed linen complete the scene.

The piece measures 8" across and 8" high.It is sewn to a sturdy base cut from archival mat board and covered with linen for stability and ease of display.

This cheerfully colored species will surely brighten your home this autumn and throughout the year!

You will receive the actual piece pictured.
