Antique Bathroom Fixture - Shaving Brush Holder - Circa 1910-20's

Specs:
height 4 ins
holding cup diameter is 1 and 3/8 ths ins
base pan diameter is 3.5 ins

Although I found numerous and varied examples of period bathroom cup, toothbrush, soap and sponge fixtures/holder I have not seen another fixture like this one- so what is it?

My speculation is it's a shaving brush (or even possibly a tooth powder tin) holder from the early part of the 1900's - seemingly unique and possibly rare

I do know it is made of nickel plated brass and given the verdigris/tarnish, likely an early bathroom accessory

In as found/original condition - it has not been cleaned - I think the tarnish/verdigris is an integral part of the look - it is well fabricated and it's overall condition is good, albeit there is a fine hairline vertical crack along the surface/side of the cup (reference photo #5)

There is a striking simplicity about this item - l love the cylindrical fluting around the cup which gives it a distinct art deco/industrial look - hoping that someone else recognizes it's uniqueness, and that it finds its way into a period bathroom renovation/restoration project - it does come apart for ease of installation (reference photo #4)

The incidental - even though there are no makers markings, I think this fixture may have been made by the Art Brass Company (New York) - a prominent early manufacturer of bathroom fixtures/accessories (marketed under the San-O-La name) - this item has a distinct design similarity to the mounting bracket on some of their fixtures

Note: shaving brush is not part of this sale
