Very nice Syracuse platter in good condition as described. The only hiccup was the shipping was much more than the cost of the plate and wasnt carefully packaged so the vaule was not reflected in the price. Luckily, the plate did arrive intact.

The packaging is, um, unorthodox? But, as a former high end art packing and delivery person, I was delighted and delightfully giggling while I unpacked my purchase. You could tell they did it right Packing doesn't need to be pretty; it just needs to work. And this absolutely did. The box had an end I assumed was the top, but whatever way I moved the box, nothing moved. Which is exactly what you want. I'd give them six stars for packing if I could. The item was exactly as described and in great condition. I recently inherited my grandmother's dishes in this pattern, and I was so happy to find this fondue set, and so happy about the care the shop did in sending it.

Thank you for the wonderful review. I try and use recycled packing materials as much as possible. I know it doesn't always make sense to some people, but it helps keep the shipping costs down.
