6" Yin Yang Dish

Skill Level INTERMEDIATE:
This pattern assumes you are familiar with basic crochet stitches, sc, dc, inc. and the use of a magic ring.
While the stitches in this pattern are basic, some aspects of the pattern pertaining to gauge and stitch spacing may require extra attention and practice, which render the skill level intermediate.

Materials and Equipment:

Hooks:
5 mm – US H8 – UK 6
2.25 mm – US B1 – UK 13

Yarn:
Fiber: 100% Cotton
Weight: Sport (50 gr = 125m = 134y)
Brands: Schachenmayr Catania, Madame Tricot Camila 6/4, or equivalent.
Yardage: 250m = 270y (approximately 100gr).
Pro Tip: Part of this pattern is worked holding 4 strands together; working with both ends of each skein eliminates the need for extra skeins.

Rope:
Fiber: 6mm or ¼” double braided polyester rope, also known as Parachute Cord or Paracord.
Length: Approximately 3m (or 3.2y)
Pro Tip: Note that this type of rope is most commonly found in hardware stores, and that craft cords or nylon ropes are too soft, difficult to work with, and much more expensive!

Other materials:
- Fabric adhesive
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
- 8-9 small clips

Using the recommended hook and yarn, the completed dish will measure approximately 15cm (or 6") across.
