I actually made\/hatched these dragons about five years ago and they are only just now ready for adoption (I did not know about Etsy at the time and besides, these dragons have much longer life-spans than humans and are still only babies by their own standards.) This is one of five breeds that I am selling. It is known commonly as the Volcanic Red due to it’s ruddy coloring and its tendency to live in caves near active volcanoes. They are the most aggressive breed of dragon and will often breathe fire for no apparent reason. They share a lust for gold with their smaller cousin the European Green but behave more like predators than scavengers. They will usually simply take what they want unless it is already offered to them in a ritual sacrifice of some kind. They are the breed of dragon that put the damsel in distress. Keeping a Volcanic Red for a pet is risky and highly challenging, but it can be done if they are given their distance.

The bodies and heads of these dragons were molded with Sculpey, their necks, tails and appendages made with painted canvas cloth over wire, their ears are felt and their wings are crafted from recycled red tights. They are approximately three inches tall while sitting upright in the palm of your hand. Although I hatched several dragons of each breed, they were not created with the use of any molds so they all have slight variations. I quite frankly am not sure if I would remember how to make any more of them ever again since it has been so long, so if you like one make sure to snag it before someone else does, it is your last opportunity. Each dragon hatchling comes with an adoption certificate that has been signed by the artist.
