**As seen in the Spring 2009 issue of Art Doll Quarterly**

There are no Jane Austen novels about this lovely Regency lass because Peggine isn't repressed enough! If she were a Jane Austen character, she'd be most like Lizzy from Pride and Prejudice. She's not afraid to speak her mind, get the hem of her skirt muddy, or roam among the sheep in the valley. Peggine is happiest singing outdoors, waving to the geese heading south overhead.

CONSTRUCTION
Peggine's head, hands and feet are individually sculpted (no molds) from paperclay, a very fine and durable form of papier maché that is built up in layers. It is dried and sanded between each layer, resulting in a smooth, porcelain-like finish. She is finished with acrylic paints and pencil, then sealed with a matte varnish. Her body is fiberfill and cotton fabric over a wire armature - she is fully poseable.
-Peggine's hair is hand-dyed mohair; her eyes are hand-blown vintage German glass

SIZE: Peggine stands 18.5" (47 cm) high

CLOTHING
-Peggine's pinafore is made from vintage cotton over a skirt from repurposed fabric. All visible stitching is done by hand.

*Peggine is slightly darker than she appears in the first photo; photo #2 is the most accurate in terms of colour

NOTES
-Every aspect of my dolls is handmade; the dolls are not meant to look mass-produced. Their seams and hems are intentionally raw and tattered, and they sometimes have tiny irregularities, such as brush strokes and fingerprints, all of which adds to their unique look. They are for display purposes only, and should be kept out of direct sunlight and moist conditions. If well cared for, they should last generations.
