The Zeller's Bolete," Boletus Zelleri" , is one of the most colorful boletes to grace our damp Pacific Northwest woods. With cap colors ranging from dark chocolate brown to deep wine and a stem sporting pale yellow overlaid with claret, this bolete is a beauty. Celebrate any season with this reminder of all that the rain brings!

This listing is for one needle felted mushroom scene and includes a beautiful representation of a single Zeller's Bolete with orange coral fungi fruiting at its base, surrounded by a forest floor habitat of mosses, lichens, sporophytes and felted stones. I have created it entirely of wool roving and specialty locks selected from a variety of sheep breeds that combine to represent the varied texture of the mushroom species and the forest in which it grows.

The piece measures approximately 6" high and 4" wide and is then sewn to a base of Douglas Fir, hand finished with two coats of tung oil. Also included is a glass dome 7"x 4" to display and protect your treasured forest scene. You may also order this without the glass dome, just ask!

Each scene is made to order, so please allow for slight variations in mushroom shape as in nature, as well as variety in the mossy habitat.
