Description

Thanks for visiting my Etsy shop! I'm a figurative sculptor and jewelry designer, and cast lost-wax bronzes and custom jewelry in my small foundry workshop. Visit http://effinger.us/ to learn more about my artwork and foundry process.

"Volnus" is my fourth bronze created, made in 2013. I made this entirely myself in my small foundry workshop; molds, castings, welding, and finish. My first Artist's Proof of Volnus won Best of Show at the 2013 Texas Art Hop! It's my original design based on a live model that posed for me in 2010. Volnus is Latin for "injury", and it’s my matching sculpture to “Artifice” (to be completed later this year). The polished bronze has no patina but has been lacquered and waxed two times to seal its finish. It weighs 110 lbs, and has dimensions of h18 w10 d15". The base is made of polished black granite.
