Here in the Pacific Northwest the forest comes alive with all sorts of delightful fungi after a little rainfall. Mushrooms of every shape, color and size decorate the forest floor and inspired me to needle felt a few of the species I find to bring the joy of an autumn jaunt to your home and mine!

For a brief few weeks in autumn the Bolete called the "King" reigns in the forest and is the quest of many a forager. Renowned for its nutty flavor and meaty texture, it's a sturdy and impressively sized mushroom that I am delighted to encounter on my woodsy wanderings

This listing is for one small needle felted hanging ornament approximately 4 1/2" long. Each ornament is made from a select variety of wool rovings and locks specially chosen to represent the textures found in the forest. A bit of " forest remnant" is included at the base in the form of sheep's' wool "moss" and "soil", as though the mushroom was freshly plucked from the woods . Glass dewdrops glisten, clinging in nooks and crannies . See my other listings for more species and fill your mushroom basket!
