These Floating Sisal Cat Steps have always been one of our most popular items in the shop. This latest version has been completely redesigned to give them a sleek new look, with a patent-pending bracket design that offers quick and very simple installation.

The Sisal Posts have been weight tested to hold up to 70 lbs when mounted into a wall stud. They’re a fun addition to any setup that your cat can climb, scratch, and use to get to new areas for exploration.

Our latest collection has been meticulously engineered to be the strongest and most versatile collection we’ve produced to date. Instead of pine, we now use bamboo which is an incredibly strong material that had allowed for a thinner and sleeker design. We also added an additional mounting point underneath each Mounting Plank which will provide extra support and hold the furniture rock solid against the wall.

Our company began in 2013, when we started building unique furniture concepts for our cats. We have always put a big focus on our testing process, which has been a very large part of our success. After we construct our prototypes, we install them in our home for a six-month period to see how our cats use the furniture, and look for opportunities to improve the design prior to production.

For the first six years, we did all the design, woodwork, staining, and assembly ourselves, but as demand grew we had to expand into working with production partners to keep up with orders. Today, we design, prototype and test all concepts at our facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Once the designs are finalized, we work with manufacturing partners located in Michigan, India, and China. The raw parts are shipped to our shop in Grand Rapids and our team assembles the furniture and ships it out worldwide.

Yes, you can install our furniture into either of those surfaces! This will require additional hardware that we do not supply ourselves. You will need a masonry bit and we recommend Tapcon screws for these materials. Once you have the correct hardware, you can follow the instructions as normal.

Installing the furniture into brick or concrete is easy because you can treat the entire surface as one large stud. Please note that if you are installing into brick, you should avoid drilling into the mortar between the bricks. Make sure you are drilling into the brick itself.

All of our furniture comes with the necessary mounting hardware per the instructions for that item. We use standard wood screws as default for installing the furniture into your studs. If you need hardware for metal studs, please leave a note letting us know that you have metal studs. You can also send us your order number after you've placed your order and ask us to add the hardware.

We also use furniture bolts to clamp the furniture in place on the Mounting Planks. If you are planning a custom layout where two bamboo pieces will share a mounting point, you will need our long furniture bolts. These will not come as default with all orders but can be added free of charge. The process to request hardware is described above.

We do not recommend our products for outdoor use due to the high starch and sugar content of the bamboo components. The bamboo can develop mold over time in areas with high humidity or regular exposure to rain and the elements. We are working towards a product that is durable enough for the outdoors, but for now, we ask that our furniture is used indoors only.

We added these three sisal posts to our own built cat pole as another place for our Huck’s to hang out. We got great directions on adapting the posts to a back board as we didn’t have the necessary studs where we wanted the row of posts to be. Hutch loved it as soon as we finished and watched! It was exactly as we had imagined it from another pic on Etsy!

We bought several pieces from the Cat Mod collection to add to our apartment. With an apartment, we have tried to give the cats as many opportunities for play and exploration to make up for having less space and no ability to play outside (Misa, pictured, likes walks on the leash). The Cat Mod system is a way to give them climbing and clawing without it being our furniture! I love that the wood itself looks really even though it’s a cat system. The cats took some coaxing with treats to get up it, but now play often on the walls! I’m really glad we bought this and I anticipate adding to our collection in a bigger home in the future.

My cats are enjoying the sisal on these very sturdy steps. We have a "cat wall" in our house and these extra steps really add pizazz. Shipping was fast and the quality of the steps were perfect. I would highly recommend!!

The order was received within 48 hours of placing it! I haven't mounted the steps yet but they look so sturdy and very well made! Larger than expected, these should last even with crazy cats. The mounting system looks terrific, came with a full instruction guide, and low profile attachment into the wall.
