DROPS Baby Merino is spun from extra fine merino wool fibers from free-range animals in South America. A super soft and itch-free wool yarn, it is perfectly suited for delicate baby skin. The yarn is also superwash treated which makes it machine washable and ideal for daily use.
DROPS Baby Merino is spun from multiple thin strands, which gives the yarn extra elasticity. Is this special construction that makes it extra important to treat the garment right: make sure that you knit with the correct tension and rather use a tight tension than loose. Don't wash your garment too warm, never leave it to soak and let the garment dry flat.
The yarn is cable spun, which means the stitches will be clearly defined, and the result achieved will be neat and even.
Made in EU
This yarn has an Oeko-Tex® certification (certificate number 25.3.0110), Standard 100, Class I. This means that it has been tested and found completely free from harmful chemicals and that it is safe for human use. Class I is the highest level, and it means the yarn is suitable for baby articles (ages 0-3).
LITTLE NOTE FROM ME ABOUT THIS YARN:
This is the finest merino yarn, a lot of bounce and no irritation at all against bare skin.
Sisters in this range and how to choose:
There are baby merino, merino extra fine and big merino, they are all made of same quality wool (100% extra fine merino), the only difference is the thickness.
Baby merino is the thinest, perfect for delicate garment.
Merino extra fine is the middle one, works for almost everything, especially toddler or adult clothing, very easy to work with.
Big merino is the chunky one, choose this if you want something knits up very quick and form thick fabric for added warmth in winter.
ABOUT US:
It all started with the memory of the sweaters my grandma made for me when I was a child. They are not just sweaters, they are her loving touch in every stitch.
One day I picked up a pair of knitting needles and a ball of yarn and everything fell into place.
Love is an action, love is patience and I’m at my happiest when I have a new project in mind.
When I see the spark in my mother’s eyes when she strokes the blanket I made for her or the excitement on my son's face when he wakes up to a new hat and scarf set and the pride when he shows them off to everyone saying “mummy made them for me!”.. this makes my enjoyment in creating and making even more meaningful.
My passion for creating led to my passion in yarn, and I want to share that with you. It brings me joy knowing that I have inspired the creations that will be enjoyed by you and your loved ones for a long time.
I brought together a thoughtfully selected collection of natural fibre yarn. Every single one was tested over and over to earn its place in my store. You will only find the best yarn here, that’s a promise.
I’m blessed to be surrounded by this wonderful maker community. I am amazed and awed by your creations and your support has allowed me to be a present mother in my young son's life. For that I am eternally grateful.
Love,
Dani xx

This is a superb yarn - however I am crocheting a sweater using a Tunisian hook & I find with this type of working the yarn it does split easily so have to go slow & steady & check quality of total stitch regularly. Worth the effort makes a stunning pattern using Tunisian hook.

Lovely wool! The colour is the tiniest bit darker than the picture but that’s just me being picky, it’s a beautiful colour and lovely to work with. Quick delivery time and helpful updates from the seller. Would definitely recommend and would purchase again. Thank you!
