Christmas time's a comin'...Christmas time's a comin'...et cetera...etcetera... listening to Emmylou Harris's Christmas Album (on vinyl, tracking tangentially on my b&o turntable), I decided it was time to try my hand at a Yuletide favorite--combining reclaimed green bottle glass and red drawn antique glass copper foiled and soldered with lead free solder.

And that's when my older sister whispered, "Sure, but can you make a miniature one for a tree ornament?" And of course, since she's my big sister...I complied with a little 2" x 3" concoction...perfect as a tree ornament, or a window, or hanging from a corner of your library craft room, or dangling from your neck, etc., etc....

What I'm trying to say is..."It's almost Christmas..."

I enjoy a natural patina as metals begin to oxidize in the scheme of things...silver solder lines and copper rods for leaf stems develop a lovely patina over time. In light, the pieces will present a dark solder line (I don't apply acid to the metals unless requested) and copper stems will appear dark with natural light. At night, the ambient light from indoors will give a different view, reflecting off the various metals.
