Description

This is a 1940s knitting pattern to knit a cute 2-piece swimsuit with an intarsia diamond pattern. The pattern specifically gives information and instructions to make sure your swimsuit won't sag when you take a dip!

This pattern was originally published in Dutch and has been translated to English by me personally (that's why they are slightly higher priced than my other PDF patterns). You don't just get a piece of translated text - it's been put back into the original layout! You will receive a PDF of both the original Dutch pattern and the English translation.

The pattern consists of written instructions.

Techniques you need to know for this pattern: intarsia, pick up and knit, short rows.

Materials Required:
120 gr. (4.2 oz) dark wool,
30 gr. (1 oz) light wool.
Two pairs needles size 2 mm (US 0 ) and 1½ mm (US 000),
1 meter (ca. 1 yard) of ribbon for shoulder straps, elastic for shorts.

Measurements: Brassiere: size 42 [ca. 92 cm / 36 in. bust].
Shorts: length 36 cm (14¼ in.), width (without stretching) 80 cm (31,5 in).
36 sts. measures 10 cm (4 in.)

For a larger size use slightly thicker yarn and knitting needles size 2½ (US 1.5) & 2 mm (US 0), such that 32 sts. equals 10 cm (4 in.). (Materials required: 160 gr. (5.6 oz) dark wool, 40 gr. (1.4 oz) light wool.)

Returns & exchanges

All items are sold "As is".

Always make sure to check your measurements carefully before purchasing!

Please note that vintage clothing items are usually pre-worn, and can sometimes be up to 90 years old(!). This means they can have flaws like small stains, loose threads, slight discoloration, etc. Even deadstock items often have flaws because some materials do not withstand the test of time very well. I make tremendous effort to describe and photograph colors, flaws and measurements of each item as accurate as possible. Returns for these reasons will not be accepted. Only if an item has been grossly misrepresented. If you think this is the case then please contact me as soon as possible after receiving the item and we will figure something out! If I messed up I will give you a full refund, including shipping. Sadly, I cannot refund customs and taxes.

I aim to please! So please don't hesitate to contact me about any additional measurements, photo's or information about an item to make you feel more secure about your purchase!

Additional policies

I will always try to date an item as accurately as I can. I do not wash or restore deadstock items. I ALWAYS make pictures of all the tags or makers marks.

Please note that I have cats.

I have more in stock than is listed in the shop, so if you're ever looking for anything specific don't hesitate to ask. Who knows, I might just have what you're looking for!

MEASUREMENTS
I personally recommend comparing the measurements to a similar garment that fits you, as well as your body measurements. Keep in mind that you need to add some ease for comfort. For lingerie and swimwear, remember to measure your bust without a bra. If you are unsure whether an item will fit you simply send me a message with your body measurements and I will compare them to the garment for you.
