Description

Ceramic soup mugs are cozy to hold and retain the heat for along time. There are 2 mugs available in this design. Large and low mugs they were made on my potter's wheel in my studio and has a lead free glaze (of course!). When you get to the bottom of the mugs you will see the message "All gone"! Great for that big mug of chili or soup. Imagine holding a steaming cafe au lait by the fire on a winter evening! Or that whipped cream topped Irish coffee during your afternoon coffee break.

Please allow me to select one from my inventory.

The mugs average about 2.75 inches tall and they are just under 5 inches across the rim. They each vary a bit but they will hold approximately 10 to 12 fluid ounces. The rim is lightly brushed in cobalt blue under the white glazing.
The design is individually hand painted. The clay body fires to a light cream at cone 6. The bottom is unglazed and smooth.

Are you tired of uncomfortable mug handles? My customers constantly tell me how much they love my coffee mug handles. They have a more contoured shape to fit your grip easily. I have also added a "thumb button" at the top of the handle- you'll be surprised by how much you like this mug!

These ceramic soup mugs are lead free, microwave, dishwasher and oven safe. As with any pottery item, hand washing will prolong the life of the dish.

Shipping policies

I know how important shipping costs are to you. I charge only the actual shipping cost, no add on for handling. I try to give a guestimate of shipping since I have no idea where the item might end up. Tall Pines Pottery will ship your order to you via the United States Post Office. I will keep my shipping fees as low as possible to all my valued customers. At this time I cannot ship via UPS. I will refund any shipping excess over $1 back to you. All items are packed with care and with appropriate shipping materials.

International shipment costs listed are a very rough estimate. I will contact the Buyer if actual costs are substantially higher than the estimate and refund the difference if they are substantially lower. Delivery can take several weeks. Also note that YOU are RESPONSIBLE for all Customs fees, which might be charged by your country on receipt of your order. Check up there if your country will charge you Customs fees: https://www.dutycalculator.com/new-import-duty-and-tax-calculation/

The shipping costs listed are a rough estimate based on the size and weight of the item. If I can combine items in shipping, it is sometimes possible to reduce the shipping charge. If the actual shipping cost is substantially less than the estimate, I will refund the difference.

Additional policies

All volume measurements are approximate. Some individuals fill cups to the rim, others leave "splash room." Dimensions are taken from the exterior of the piece. Unless otherwise noted, all items are made with a "mid-fire white" stoneware clay body which fires to cone 6. After hand painting with colored slips and bisque firing to cone 04 each item is coated in a clear glaze and final fired. The background is slightly off white, some say light cream. It makes a nice contrast to the painted designs.
Tall Pines Pottery and Tall Pines Studio is a "green" studio. All pieces are produced in a full capacity electric kiln. All clay scrap is recycled in the studio to produce new pieces. Much of the packing material is recycled/reused.

Please use Etsy Convos for all Etsy business. If there is a shipping issue please let me know as soon as possible.

Caring for your stoneware:
--Never take a ceramic pot directly from the freezer or refrigerator to the oven. Pieces should be filled so food contacts all interior surfaces and heated slowly. Place room temperature dishes in a cold oven and gradually bring the heat up to the desired temperature.
--Never place a dish directly on top of a burner or in a preheated oven. Stoneware cannot withstand the thermal shock of such treatment.
--A stoneware mug, tea bowl or teapot will absorb heat. Take care when handling these items once hot liquid has been placed in them.
--Teapots should be warmed with hot water before filling them with boiling water.
-- While stoneware can be used in a microwave oven, please keep in mind that it will get hot: Use an oven mitt to handle or take a piece out of a microwave oven.
--Stoneware pieces are dishwasher safe. However, handle them with care when washing to avoid chipping.
--As with other dishes, once a piece is chipped it is likely that a crack has developed as well. It is advisable to no longer use the piece to store food. Moreover, the piece will become weak at the crack and further heating and cooling may worsen the problem.
--Never attempt to use a mug, pitcher or other stoneware piece with a broken handle. Glue is unlikely to hold once the piece is filled or heated. You may glue it back together to use as a decorative piece only.
