Description

This listing is for a lapis and champagne diamond ring in 14k yellow gold, handmade to order by me.

Lapis lazuli has a long cultural significance that dates back to the Neolithic Age. Perhaps most notably, as a decadent material for jewelry and sculpture in Ancient Egypt. Cleopatra ground the stone into eyeshadow, while much later, lapis lazuli lent its unparalleled blue pigments to many Renaissance painters. Many historical and biblical occurrences of "sapphire" in text are believed by experts to be actually references to lapis lazuli.

Keeping all this in mind, I envisioned this ring to be substantial, luxurious and classic. I hand fabricate this ring from raw materials of 14k yellow gold wire, sheet and stone entirely by hand, in my studio. The band is 2mm wide and 1.5mm thick the whole way around. The centerpiece is a gorgeous 10mm natural and untreated deep blue lapis lazuli cabochon set in a heavy 14k bezel (with open back), which creates a smooth, shiny halo around the stone. Flanking the lapis on either side are three champagne diamonds, bezel and flush set, to accentuate the natural pyrite inclusions of the stone. Diamonds total 0.09cttw.

Please keep in mind that this ring is made to order in the appropriate size. For this reason, the lapis cabochons will vary slightly, though I do take care to select superior pieces of consistent quality.

Include the size you would like in your "notes to seller" at checkout as well as any preferences you may have for the lapis stone, such as highly concentrated pyrite inclusions (as in the ring pictured), speckled pyrite or blue with minimal pyrite. Please feel free to message me with any questions about this ring or different stone, metal, and design variations.

Returns and exchange details
In the event that your order doesn't meet with your satisfaction, I will accept returns when contacted up to one week (7 days) after item is confirmed delivered. Item must be returned in original packaging in its original condition. Buyer pays return shipping and once the item is received by me, will receive refund of the item cost minus my cost of original shipping and insurance. Unsolicited returns will not be honored.

In issues of incorrect size received from the client or in the case of custom ordered items, unfortunately, I cannot offer blanket returns. The buyer must assume responsibility for giving me the correct size (and any other pertinent info) at the point of sale as I will, of course, assume responsibility for building things to spec. It might be possible for me to size or otherwise alter the item for you for a fee after the fact. In these instances, the buyer is responsible for shipping in both directions.

Please always feel free to ask questions and inquire with me for any clarification :)

Shipping policies

Upon receipt of payment, for pre-fabricated items, I will ship within 3 business days. For custom orders, please allow 2-3 weeks. (I use 2-3 weeks as a catch-all, as I have another job and potentially multiple orders. Very often, it is possible to expedite the process. If you would like something by an earlier date, please feel free to contact me prior to purchasing, and I'll do whatever I can to accommodate your timeframe.)

In cases of payment by check or money order, I will ship after payment has cleared.

I ship nationally and internationally via USPS. Within the US, I use priority mail. Internationally, I ship via first class. Contact me about shipping upgrades if you need your items faster.

Parcels are always sent with insurance for the full value of the order.

***The buyer assumes all responsibility for international customs fees and taxes (where applicable).***

Custom orders require a minimum of 50% down before I will begin fabricating anything. This helps with the immediate material expenses of fulfilling the order. The remaining balance is due prior to shipment.

Additional policies

If you have any concerns or questions about my policies, please contact me BEFORE purchasing. I am happy to explain things on a case by case basis where necessary. I want you to feel comfortable with your purchase and the purchase process :)
