Description

Looking for a cheap and green home decor DIY project?

As featured on NotYourStandard (http://notyourstandard.com) and in the upcoming holiday issue of sisterMAG #16 (http://sister-mag.com), DANKOLETTERS are an entire alphabet of bold sans serif letters, punctuation and numbers, designed as individual templates for 3D character construction using cardboard or thick paper.

Every vector PDF template is scalable and easy to print, as-is. Comprised of six A4 pages, each template includes instructions to create a single eighteen-inch-high character.

A how-to DIY video (also shot by sisterMAG) explaining construction from start to finish, featuring three distinct looks for Christmas decor, is available here:
http://youtu.be/w8hpH7f3oGY?list=UUDCsly4MZUjb3k6BUWzU0Mw

Of course, how you choose to decorate them is up to you -- use paint, glitter, christmas lights, tinsel, wallpaper, old flickering string bulbs, fabric or simply display as raw, classic brown cardboard -- then share photos of your handcrafted DANKOLETTERS with @dankosaurus on Instagram and Twitter using the #dankoletters hashtag.

By making your own interior decorations, you can turn any unwanted heavy paper, card or cardboard into striking letterforms that can be assembled and creatively decorated by anyone, using local materials and removing the need for mass manufacturing or shipping.
