Few years ago life circumstances made my little gray cells think of the meaning of love - and I wondered: "How do you say love? How do you feel love? How do you express love?" and made this piece:

more recently it was another Love inspired artwork:

and this time it was turn for a mobile!
Salvaged Myrtle branch provided wood slices, while the top is a branch found in the woods.
The size of the mobile is 18" wide and 36" from the swivel to the bottom one. Each slice has a different language for word LOVE on each respective side. They are woodburned manually, adorned with my signature leaves pattern, stained and connected with the rest of the mobile via thin natural hemp.
How many languages? Well, depends on how you count. Languages are alive and they evolve, for one reason or another. Some languages are sharing the same word, perhaps different accent or pronunciation, but they are written the same. Some languages, like my own mother tongue, are using two alphabets for the same word: Cyrillic and Latin.
Here are the languages in alphabetical order that are included in the sculpture:
Albanian, Arabic, Armenian, Belarusian, Bosnian, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Dutch, English, Filipino, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Irish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Philippine, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish. But one that is not written is the one that can be felt, universal Mother Nature love sign - the smile and the warmth in your heart.
With love
Tanja
