FUN FACTS

-Most aqua and turquoise sea glass originated in the late 1880s to 1930s and was once used for Mason jars, beer, soda, and mineral bottles. After the 1930s, glass Pepsi bottles became star players in the turquoise sea glass game.

-The odds of finding a piece of aqua sea glass is about 1 in 50.

-The odds of finding a piece of turquoise sea glass is about 1 in 500.

-Turquoise and aqua sea glass can be easily confused because they look so much alike. We have found that the best way to tell the two apart, is by laying the pieces out on a white surface (such as a plain piece of paper). In doing so, you can see that the aqua pieces offer more of a soft shade of blue, where the turquoise pieces lend a greenish hue.
