Here in the Pacific Northwest the forest comes alive with all sorts of delightful fungi after a little rainfall. Mushrooms of every shape, color and size decorate the forest floor and inspired me to needle felt a few of the species I find to bring the joy of an autumn jaunt to your home and mine!

Sulfur tuft mushroom, "Hypholoma fasciculare", is a very common forest mushroom. It often grows in impressively massive clumping groups on conifer and sometimes hardwood debris. When young it is a beautiful golden color.

This listing is for one needle felted hanging ornament approximately 4 1/2" long. Each ornament is made from a select variety of wool roving and locks specially chosen to represent the textures found in the forest. Each includes a bit of " forest remnant" at the base in the form of sheep's' wool "moss" and "soil", as though the mushroom was freshly plucked from the woods . Glass dewdrops glisten, clinging in nooks and crannies . See my other listings for more species and fill your mushroom basket!
