Framed miniature pineapple block

This is a framed version of a traditional "Pineapple" quilt block that has been in use by American quilters for generations. Fiber artist Valerie Robertson celebrates these beautiful old patterns by creating them in miniature, using the 100% cotton fabrics preferred by many quilters. Mats are covered in matching fabric, and the shadow box frame showcases the texture of the finished piece. Each piece has a paragraph on the reverse, describing the quilting heritage represented by the block.

These pieces are particularly popular among people who have made quilts or done other handwork, as they appreciate the precision required to execute the corners accurately. The pieces make good realtor gifts, and are a good gift selection for the person who has scaled down to smaller living quarters.
