More of the New Orleans streetscape series ............... A lovely view of one of the balconies that make this city so charming.
Before the age of central air and heat; tall windows, along with ceiling fans, allowed the flow of air during the hottest parts of the year. Years ago, home owners were taxed by the number of doors that faced the street; hence the floor to ceiling windows served a dual purpose.
