Description

THE SCENE - Nourished by a hot, sunny, dry climate, cool nights and soil well suited for growing grapes, the Okanagan Valley and its mountainsides have become one of Canada's foremost wine producing regions. Located in the South Okanagan is the oldest estate winery in British Columbia. Founded by Harry McWatters in 1979 it was the third estate winery to open after the B.C.Government legislated to allow estate wineries in the province. Originally part of the Sumac Ridge Golf Course, three fairways were planted in vines and hence a great winery was born. Today all of the wines made at Sumac Ridge are made from 100% Okanagan grown grapes, most of which come from the southern most part of the Okanagan Valley. Over the years and dispite difficult times, Sumac Ridge has survived and prospered and is now enjoying vintage years as the market for wine continues to boom, winning competitions on the world stage against the best wine growing regions in the world.

THE PRINT - "Sumac Ridge Estate Winery" has been reproduced from an original watercolor painting by British Columbia Artist Mal Gagnon in 1999. The Limited Edition Print edition of 500 has been reproduced by the Off-Set printing process. It is printed on a dull coated heavy acid free stock in a 200 LPI screen resulting in a beautiful high resolution print suitable for framing. The image measures 15"x 21" with a 2" white border and a final trim size of 19"x 25".
