Description

THE SCENE - This spectacular view from Kelowna's Mission Hill Winery looking south over Okanagan Lake is typical of the many scenic vistas for which the Okanagan region of British Columbia is so renown. However, the long hours of sunlight and the richness of soil contribute to much more then beautiful landscapes, for these are the essential ingredients that makes this area one of the premiere wine regions in Canada. Most wineries invite visitors for wine tastings and tours, and some serve delectable gourmet prepared regional cuisine to accompany the fine wines. The tours which typically take 20 minutes to an hour at each winery, allow visitors to see and learn about the entire winemaking process from growing the grapes, to crushing, to bottling. The face of wineries has changed with the times. Okanagan wineries have opened up their businesses, hearts and homes and transformed their lifestyles into destinations.

THE PRINT - "August Splendor" has been reproduced from an original watercolor painting by British Columbia Artist Mal Gagnon in 1993. The Limited Edition Print edition is 950 and has been reproduced by the off-set printing process. It is printed on a dull coated heavy acid free stock in a 200 LPI screen resulting in a beautiful high resolution print suitable for framing. The image measures 15"x 21" with a 2" white border and a final trim size of 19"x 25".
