Description

These beautifully designed cards are helpful tools for midwives, doulas, and birth educators to talk with families about birth as well as great gifts for new (and experienced) parents as they journey through the birth of their child. Informative text and illustrative photographs help discuss sensitive topics and navigate important birth decisions.

The cards come in a portable tin with a transparent top, which make them easy to throw into a purse, backpack or diaper bag. They make a great addition to any waiting room or birth meeting place!

Topics include: Birth Plan, Birth Classes, Amniocentesis, Estimated Due Date, Natural Childbirth, VBAC, Birth Centers, Water Birth, Midwife, Doula, Home Birth, C-Sections, Chiropractic Care, Prenatal Yoga, Eating During Labor, Natural Urge to Push, Birthing Ball, Walking During Labor, Labor Positions, Inducing Labor, Epidural, Pitocin, Episiotomy, Skin-to-Skin, Colostrum, Co-Sleeping, Cloth Diapers, ICAN, PTSD from Birth Experience and Postpartum Depression among others!

Giving Birth is a project inspired by the women and their families present in the photographs. It reflects their birth stories and the many experiences and things that they and myself are eager to share with others. These 50 informative cards were created to prompt more discussion surrounding birth and bring to the forefront many great birth options that are often overlooked.

The research for the cards was conducted over many hours spent speaking to birth professionals, attending birth classes, reading essays, books, and blogs, watching films and listening to a wide variety of birth stories. These cards should be used as a resource, and jumping off point as you navigate the experience of pregnancy and birth.
