Vintage 80s dress, size 12, in pink silky polyester by Blake Elizabeth for I.F. Industries. U.S. women's perfect size 12, roomier at bust. Like new condition: no rips, stains or loose threads. The fabric is a nice heavy crepe and as was typical of the period, there is a lot of fabric. The striped pattern has black and white geometric triangle shapes against a pretty watermelon pink background. Photo #3 shows the exact color.
The collar has a self-fabric bow at neck, 3/4 length sleeves with band and self-fabric button. The lined top with shoulder pads hangs in a blouson over an elasticized waist. There is a pieced-in fabric band that sits on the hips; the pleated skirt goes to mid-calf.
This is a high-quality everyday 80s dress, a little fancier than the 80s secretary dress. At the time, it would have been suitable for a job interview for an office job, or for a social occasion after work. It is for a perfect size 12, 5' 6" or taller.
I wear a current dress size 10 or 12 petite. In the photos, this size 12 dress just fits me around the waist, but it is a size too large in the top and a size too large in length. Therefore, the dress is for a regular U.S. women's size 12, 5' 6" and taller. The pleated skirt may not hang right if you are bigger than size 12 below the waist. Garment measurements are: 46" long from shoulder to hem (but it blouses up a bit when worn), 45" bust under arms, 37" resting on hips a couple inches below the waist, 40-42" around the rear.
100% polyester crepe, hand wash or dry clean. Drip dry, no iron needed. You can wash the dress the night before, hang it on a hanger, and it will be ready to wear the next day!
The dress is quite comfortable and hangs well. It feels good to wear.
Shipping is estimated at cost: the dress has a lot of fabric (all that pleating and blousing) and weighs over 1 lb. with packaging. If my estimate is more than $2.00 over the actual cost, I will refund the $2.00 (or more).
