Enchanted Lantern Pin that originally came off of an antique Shriner's Fez. It's VINTAGE and NOT like the cheapo modern ones. Heavy enameling, lovely craftsmanship. MARKED 10K on back of pin. Excellent condition. Weight is approx. 3-4 grams (shows 4 grams in the photo, but it may be slightly under since my scale has not been recently calibrated)

Make sure to view photos and zoom in.

I bought a small collection of these many years ago and still have a few left. I may have one of two that are gold filled and NOT carat gold, so if you are interested in one for a lower price in GF, let me know. The gold filled pin will cost about $30. Here is a link:

ANTIQUE 10k GOLD MASONIC MOVPER GROTTO ENCHANTED LANTERN LAPEL PIN

More on Masons:
Masonry proper, is all work (solemn, serious and sublime work). T is not and never should be a line of light and frivolous from the first step as we enter the outer courts, to the last in the Holy of Holies of its mystic temple. Truth, everlasting and unchanging, is the foundation on which it is erected and on this basis its votaries by bonds of brotherhood which are mutually helpful and beneficent.
While it is as Prophets we open the portals of the Enchanted Realm to Master Masons, we are none the less loyal to Masonry. We carry with us the solemn lessons we have learned within the Lodge and we are guided by the precepts of Masonry while we revel in the good cheer of the Prophets.
The Order of Veiled Prophets, while proclaiming the loyalty of its members to Masonry, makes no pretense of being a Masonic Order, nor does it claim to confer a Masonic degree. Its membership is exclusively Masonic and its purpose is to supply the element of pain such a way that work and play will be blended without marring the solid beauty of Masonry. The Grotto is said to be essentially Masonic in character.
The requirements for membership in the Order of Veiled Prophets is that a man must first be a Master Mason in good standing, and that he must continue to maintain his good standing in the Blue Lodge in order to retain his standing in the Order. In no way does the Grotto infringe upon the rights and ceremonies of Masonry or of any other Order.
The Grotto leads it votaries through an Enchanted Realm w the spirit of mirth touches the hearts and evolves cheerful companionship, in joy of which they are brought near together in helpful sympathy, which is none the less true because the eye beams with delight and laughter goes with a Prophet's greeting when hand clasps hand in its mystic fellowship.
The Humanitarian Foundation
In June 1949, at its Supreme Council Session, the delegates adopted a resolution to establish a national charitable program, which was to be named the Humanitarian Foundation. The symbol adpoted to represent the Grotto is the Enchanted Lantern .The fund began with $65 in contributions. As of today members, their families, friends, co-workers and fellow Master Masons have made contributions to the Trust which exceeds $18,000,000. The interest from that trust is used to support our programs: Dental Care of Children with Special Needs and a yearly $30,000 contributions to United Cerebral Palsy Research. Yearly, the Dental program pays over $500,000 in dental care for children who qualified for our program. Starting in the year 2003, the program will expand due to a joint venture with Special Olympics, Special Smiles Program.

We offer layaway plans for non-sale items above $100. There is a 25-35% nonrefundable deposit with the balance due within 30-45 days. I am happy to discuss details and work with you in many cases; just ask.
I guarantee all items to be as described and stand behind my merchandise. If you are not satisfied, contact me and send it back in same condition as was received w/in 2 days of receipt. with tracking, postmarked within 2 days of contacting me.

CLEARANCE/SALE items FINAL. NO RETURNS.

NO refund on shipping charges. Items w/ FREE shipping: that means the cost is built into the price & my actual cost will be subtracted from refund. (example: a $30 pin inc shipping, returned, receives $25 refund to account for my $5 domestic insured shipping fee to ship it)

A 20% restocking fee will apply if returned past the 2 day return period postmarked date.

All sales FINAL if not contacted w/in 2 days of receipt or if returned after 7 days.
I ship with the US Postal service and I am happy to discuss shipping options with you should you wish to use another service. Insurance is usually purchased separately from an outside party from the USPS. I base my shipping on current USPS prices. Oversized packages can be subject to a surcharge by the USPS. I'm happy to combine items to save on shipping costs.
Please do not return it. Items are insured through either the USPS or a third party. Simply save all packing materials and the item and contact me immediately for instructions. It's rare that a claim is necessary, but it does happen from time to time and can be a relatively simple and quick process to get your investment refunded.
Yes, I ship all over the globe. Please note that you may be charged customs fees in your country which are beyond my control. Shipping rates are based on first class mail with upgrades available upon request. The shipping fees stated includes insurance, which is required and generally adds about $2 per $100 of coverage to the shipping total.

I'm NOT responsible for any taxes or customs charges from other countries. If a package is not picked up and returned to me, I do not offer refunds on the item or on shipping costs. It's the customer's responsibility to retrieve their packages from their postal service or customs. Again: NO REFUND if package is returned to me.
Simply click on "SHIPPING & POLICIES" tab under the photo of the item you'd like, and your shipping price will be revealed based on your US zip code or international destination.

The shipping amount generally also includes insurance, which is purchased from an outside company. So when you receive your item, the package will often not reflect those insurance costs since it is bought online. You can go to www.usps.com to view the latest rates from which these shipping amounts are calculated.
FREE shipping on chosen items applies to first class domestic shipping and is considered a FINAL SALE. In the even of a return for any reason other than an item not being as described, my actual cost may be subtracted from the refund you receive.

EXAMPLES:

~A $100 brooch inc. FREE shipping, if returned, would receive $95 to account for my 1st class insured cost to ship, and customer is responsible for costs to ship back as well.

~A $500 brooch inc. FREE shipping, would get a refund of approx. $490 to account for my 1st class insured cost to ship.

FREE shipping offer is extended as a promotion & is VOIDED in the event of a return.

HOWEVER, if a return is due to MY mistake, there is NO cost to buyer for ANY shipping.
