Written by Melanie P. Falina, this is her fourth collection of free verse poetry written about, written in, and inspired by, the city of New Orleans. A journalist who covers an array of topics in her articles spanning arts and entertainment, community and culture, travel and more, Melanie Falina's greatest muse, however, is New Orleans. With its music, food, history, culture, and obsession with festivals, the Crescent City is a medley of endless mystique and complicated contradictions.

I thoroughly enjoy reading these poems; Melanie captures both the soft beauty and the desolate bleakness of winter, feelings that we can all relate to during this bitter season. The photos along with the poems are a wonderful addition of wintry chill.

Beautiful New Orleans Poetry. Takes me back to New Orleans. These beautifully written poems bring back so many wonderful memories from all my visits to the Crescent City. Melanie is a talented writer and I look forward to reading more of her great work.

This book is incredible. I started out with the intention of reading the first few poems- I could not put this book down until I had devoured every deliciously exquisite word. A must have!
