Pre-Order: White Sheep & Alice in Wonderland Art Doll Kit 2018, Version 1

Description

THIS LISTING IS FOR A SPECIAL, LIMITED EDITION "ALICE IN WONDERLAND" KIT; NOT THE COMPLETED DOLL; INFO FOR THE COMPLETED DOLL WILL BE AVAILABLE SHORTLY.

An interpretation of characters from the chapter "Wool and Water," from Lewis Carroll's "Alice/ Through the Looking Glass," my favorite of all Alice's Adventures. It's an obscure chapter never explored by Disney or Burton, in which Alice encounters The White Queen, who --midway through the chapter-- transforms into a Sheep in a Shop (which subsequently floods, necessitating the magical boat which instantly envelops them, mid-conversation). See my Facebook page. "Doters On Etsy" for updates & details.

Purchase of this special pre-order listing entitles you to one complete set of fired, waxed ceramic parts for assembling your own "Version #1" of my Alice doll AND "Version #1" of my Sheep doll; as shown in the first two photos above: jointed head/bustplate, lower arms jointed at the wrists and elbows, and lower legs jointed at the knees. It also entitles you to one complete PDF tutorial for sewing and assembling your own jointed cloth body and costume, as well as one hand-pulled limited edition, signed & numbered fine art lithograph depicting a full-future character rotation, printed by the artist. (Sketches forthcoming in this listing).

These doll parts will be specially marked proof states, as will the prints. The edition will (optimally) consist of 33 sets in each of three different facial expressions. THIS listing is for an even more limited number of proof states as I work out the 'fine tuning' of each face. How many proof states finally exist will depend on how quickly I arrive at 'the IT state.'

Please note that these photos show the plasticene master-sculpts for which I am currently caging the molds. I will be updating these photos frequently next month to include finished castings, fired and waxed and wigged. I do NOT anticipate there being more than 9 proofs of each face, and they will be priced lower (but potentially be worth more) than the numbered edition, over time.
