Description

This light blue Kyanite mineral came from the Graves Mountain Mine in Antriville, GA. This mine is famous for all kinds of minerals including Kyanite, Rutile Crystals, Hematite, lazulite, blue quartz, pyrite, pyrophilite, and sulphur.

This is an wonderful specimen for the collector or lapidary artist. The quartz has a blue color due to the presence of blue kyanite. The darker blue spots are lazulite crystals. There are also yellow glittery speckles throughout this specimen, this is pyrite. I have made wonderful cabochons with pieces just like this one.

Any yellow stains cause by the pyrite can usually be removed with iron out.

Great specimen for any collector.

size: 4 inches x 3-1/2 inches x 3 inches
