Do you love New Orleans style coffee? Are you like me and need to avoid caffeine but love the taste of coffee? Then meet Organic Roasted Chicory Root -- your new friend.

I'm offering two different versions of organic Chicory Root:

• One is granulated and more suitable to be used on its own for a great no caffeine drink or mixed with ground coffee for a far less caffeinated but really tasty brew (somewhat similar to what you might drink at Cafe du Monde in New Orleans)!

• One is chunkier (as pictured) and is the same as what I use in brews I make for myself.

Both are really good!

---

Please note: All my tea ingredient listing prices are per oz. Chicory Root is dense and heavy which means that, in this case, 1 oz is not very much in volume! Buying in larger quantities is recommended to save money on shipping. (I can usually ship 3 oz for the same price as 1 oz.) Your Chicory will come in a kraft paper tin tie bag (but with a different kind of label than shown in the photos) unless you buy in large quantities. In that case, it will be packaged in a reuseable plastic ziplock bag.

---

Chicory Root can be combined with many different herbs to make lots of tasty drinks. It adds the deep earthy somewhat bitter taste we associate with coffee with a welcome touch of sweetness. I use it to add a nice counterpoint to other flavors like Blackberry Leaf, Rosehips and Hibiscus or to add a deeper note to a cup of Rooibos. A little goes a long way in a combination blend.

People think Chicory has some medicinal qualities -- and it does contain high quantities of Vitamin C. My personal experience is that it helps get my digestion going -- especially combined with Dandelion.

If you have a Ragweed allergy please be cautious about using this herb. People suffering from an illness (in particular, gallstones) should consult with a medical physician.
