This heart belongs to my Birch Crystal series.
I have always loved walking in the forests and have fond memories of the moments spent there. When morning light makes dewdrops shine in bare branches, it feels like walking under chandeliers of nature. When the sun appeares above the horizon after the dark winter months, snowy forests shine with countless icy crystals. It makes me feel like I'm walking into a fairytale.

I wanted to use shapes of polished glass christals on birch plywood to describe the feeling of the forests.

Birch Crystals make beautiful decorations for windows. They can be suspended from the ceiling, light or chandelier. At Christmas time they will give a traditional touch for christmas trees.

The material used in Birch Crystals is Finnish birch plywood. Each product is packed separately in a flat cellophane bag with a Valona card and thread for suspending the decoration. There are two pieces to put together to give a three dimensional look to the decoration. It is easy to send these Birch Crystals in a greetings card. There are instructions (English, Finnish & Swedish language), along with an instuctive photo printed on the back of the Valona card.

This delicate heart arrived well protected in a heavy duty envelope as 2 pieces. Easy to construct, very sturdy. The birch wood is in a great shade of red.
