Our handcrafted artisans chest made of Paulownia wood (known in Japanese as kiri), this environmentally friendly fast growing wood is very light weight, fine-grained, soft, and warp-resistant. Fine detailing including dovetail joinery, and traditional iron hardware make this chest a handsome and practical addition to most any interior. Ideal for organizing crafts, office supplies, or jewelry. This tansu features eight drawers in two sizes.

I am very pleased with this chest which is serving as my jewelry box. It is very light but so far my cats jump on it without it sliding off the table thanks to the weight of contents and the clock radio I put on top of it. It feels sturdy despite the light weight. The back is finished and the drawers work very smoothly. I may add felt to the insides of the drawers at some point. Overall, I am very happy with this chest.

This box is made beautifully and I love the look. I only wish the drawers were lined with felt, but this is something that can be added later. The wood is still quite smooth. Great piece!
