Description

A varied edition, each one is a unique & original linocut print.

The image is inspired by many wet commutes through the streets of Manchester.

Three layers of ink have been applied to develop the finished image. The nature of the ink and method used results in a variety of finishes, each one unique. To make the printing ink I mixed oil paints with a block printing medium, the ink created a beautiful texture when overprinted, this helps create the atmosphere I was looking for.

The prints are on high quality 300gsm watercolour paper.

The printed area measures 21x26cm (8.5x10") on paper measuring 25x30cm. An example is shown framed in a standard, off the shelf 30x40cm frame.

This is an edition of 14. Each print is numbered and marked EV (Edition varié). No more can be printed as I have used a 'reduction' method. This involves a single printing block being carved away after each layer of ink is added, thus destroying the block. The prints are signed numbered and bears the title 'Wet ride'. All remaining prints are shown. Please select your favourite and include a note of the number at the checkout.

The print is sold without mount or frame.
