This small, cut and engraved late Victorian / Edwardian silver belt buckle is absolutely fabulous. It tests for silver, but has no hall mark. In my opinion this is an antique Edwardian piece - early 20th Century,no later than 1910. Whilst it doesn't have the free organic lines of true art nouveau decorative pieces;the cut and engraved decoration is influenced by that movement.

It measures 2.5cm deep in the middle where it fits together; and 3.3cm at the highest part of the oval.It measures 4.4cm at the widest point.

There is a very small dink on the edge shown at the top of the right hand section in the photographs. Despite this I consider this piece to be in very good vintage condition; and this is a very minor defect in a lovely piece.
It would make a beautiful addition to a very special garment, perhaps a wedding dress. It would also be a delight in any vintage buckle collection, or vintage project.

It comes from a non-smoking petfree environment.
