Description

Fully licensed by George R.R. Martin from his series "A Song of Ice and Fire" and made in the USA. This listing is for one fantasy coin, struck in 3.1 grammes pure copper. Denominated one “penny," Walder Frey on obverse, appx 2.2 cm in diameter, about the size of a U.S. Nickel, the Twins on reverse. L.O.T.C (Lord Of The Crossing), dated: AC 299.

On obverse: a rather unattractive portrait of an unattractive hook-nosed man, with laurel wreath. The reverse depicts the twin-castles and bridge over the river Trident that is the source of House Frey’s power.

Some people may have heard rumors that there’s a curse upon Walder Frey for betraying the guest-right in his home. (episode: The Rains of Castamere) Interestingly, there appears to have been efforts to use the coin without incurring the curse by defacing Walder’s image. At least three types are known to exist, one with a plain X over his face, one known as the “Death’s Head” variety with a skull over Frey’s face, and another with a woman’s stern figure, known as “Caetlyn’s Curse. All are thought to deflect the curse from the bearer of the coin and onto heirs of House Frey.

All orders come in a plain envelope with a wax sealed envelope. Each order comes with a custom certificate of authenticity. The name on the envelope can be omitted or changed upon request. We will write the name on the order otherwise.
