Description

This is a unique & original hand pulled linocut print.

The image depicts a lone cyclist backlit by the light of a full moon, riding along a tree lined cobbled road. The cyclist casts a strong 'Moonshadow'.

Four layers of ink have been applied to develop the finished image.

I have used oil based printing inks on high quality 300gsm watercolour paper.

The printed area measures 21x26cm (8.5x10") on paper measuring 25x30cm. It is shown framed in a standard, off the shelf 30x40cm frame.

It is one of an edition of 14. No more can be printed as I have used a 'reduction' method. This involves a single printing block being carved away after each layer of ink is added thus destroying the block. Each print is an original work of art. The hand printing process results in minor variations to the finished effect so no two are exactly the same. Any works that I consider sub-standard are not included in the final limited edition. You will not necessarily receive the numbered print shown. It is signed numbered and bears the title 'Moonshadow'. You will not necessarily receive the print shown here.

The prints are sold without mount or frame.
