Description

This Mini Horns of My Dilemma carved bone drilled crescent bead is a 20mm version of one of my most popular bead designs, and makes great festival wear jewelry.

While I chose the name for the listing here, double horn or crescent moon are names also used to describe this potent carving.

Each piece is carved both sides with a smooth curved surface. It's drilled top to bottom with a 1mm hole through the mid-section.

This listing is for one piece only, and there's an undrilled version in a separate listing.

You'll find the other double horns here -

PayPal is my preferred method of payment. Don't have it? You can still pay that way using your credit card. Just click on the PayPal icon at checkout and follow the prompts.

BACK STORY
Mekepung or bull races are held in the west Bali regency of Jembrana from July to October each year.

Madurese migrants introduced the sport to celebrate the end of the rice harvest, and it has become a tourist attraction for one of the least visited regencies on the Island of the Gods.

While I'm not a fan of the use of animals for this type of sport and have never actually seen one of these events, the races are said to be thrilling contests between teams of two young water buffalo harnessed to a chariot .

The chariot is ridden by a jockey who holds onto the bulls' tails as they career down a 2km race course, kicking up dust and sweat.

The water buffalo used in these races are said to be treated with great care, and are fed elaborate diets containing "all sorts of wonderful potions and secret ingredients".

Most of the races happen outside the regency capital of Negara, next to a river estuary in the location of Parancak.
