Description

What better way to celebrate our love of Japanese monsters than by making a commemorative necklace of the Princess of Monsters? Miyazaki's movies are filled with social commentary, but his theme in Princess Mononoke, modern industrialization bumping up against the Japanese Shinto reverence for nature, is one of our favorites. It's like a microcosm of the Meiji Era distilled into a movie, which we've further reduced to a single necklace. Enjoy!

Necklace pendant is laser cut and engraved birch wood hand painted with waterproof acrylic pigment. The mask pendant measures 1.75" width x 2.5" height x .125" thick. The gold finished steel chain is 20" length. We suggest this jewelry be removed before bathing or showering.

    Item comes as pictured and looks great. The metal ring connecting the mask to the necklace did open a bit on me- the ring fell off the chain with the mask but was an easy fix.

★ We love to do commissions or custom painted items, although we are not always able to take on new projects, depending on the complexity of the commission, tight deadlines, or how busy we are at the time. If you have something in mind, please reach out to us and we'll let you know if we can take on your project. If we are able to work on your project, we'll send you an estimate. For bigger or more complex commissions, we may ask for partial payment up front with the other part being paid once it's completed. For commissions, Obake Style retains the rights to the image, unless transfer of those rights to the commissioner was specifically sorted out in the agreement, which usually includes an extra fee.
★ To keep your jewelry looking like new, we advise the following:
Avoid getting your jewelry wet, such as showering or swimming with it. Each piece is painted with water-resistant acrylics so they can stand a little moisture, but it's best if you store it in a dry place (not the bathroom!) and out of constant, direct sunlight. Try not to allow soaps, creams, sprays, or fragrances to come in contact with your jewelry.
★ If you want to give us some special instructions to prepare your order, (notes for gifts, leaving out packing lists, etc.) please let us know in Etsy Convo or add a note while checking out.
★ We're open to wholesale inquires. Feel free to contact us with your requests and an email address so we can email you a line sheet and additional information.
