This 640 Land Camera is in great working condition and in good cosmetic condition with a few scuffs and scratches from normal use. The output unit runs well, the pressure rollers spin freely, and the flash works. The original neck strap is well attached, and everything opens and closes easily. The flash indicator light is inside the viewfinder and to charge the flash press the shutter button halfway until the red light goes out. Normally takes about 10-15 seconds to recharge the flash.

Please see the photos for more information on the camera's condition.

When most people talk about Polaroid cameras, they mean the popular and relatively cheap models of the 1980s and 1990s that used film packs with integral batteries that were designated the 600 series. The "instant" prints measure 79mm (3.1") square with a white border around them and take around 3 minutes to fully develop at 70°F (21°C). The film has an ISO rating of 640. The film was branded with several different names over the years, including "Extreme 600" and "Notepad". A high definition "professional" film named "779" could also be used with cameras from the 600 series. Some of the cameras had 'sonar' autofocus and/or featured glass lenses, but most had plastic lenses with a fixed focus of around 4 feet. A "close-up" lens was often included, but this took the form of a simple plastic meniscus that slid into place. Many of the models are functionally identical to others but have different colored fascia, names, and stickers according to marketing territory. Several models were limited editions with tie-ins to icons of popular culture, such as Barbie or the Spice Girls, while other versions were promotional items made for corporate entities and are now highly collectible thanks to their rarity.

The 600 series can be divided into 8 sub-groups.

Please note that this camera has been disassembled, cleaned, repaired (if needed), carefully reassembled, and tested. All of our cameras have been pre-owned and therefore may have some cosmetic imperfections scuffs or marks.

Possibly the best purchase I’ve ever made on etsy. What a BEAUTY. The sx70 is a dream, and ShutterPlusLight have done such an excellent job making sure it’s in mint condition. It looks beautiful, it folds down into a neat, compact rectangle that’s easy to carry. Most importantly, the quality of the photographs are excellent. I thought i fell in love with the black and white film i started with, and then i tried colour film and fell even harder. The film develops quickly, and the colours+clarity of the image are rich and creamy, it really puts digital photography to shame. The delivery from America to Australia surprisingly took just a few days, usually it takes a month, so that was another excellent service. And a final bonus was that the sx70 came with its original case! Thanks so much ShutterPlusLight, it’s a pleasure.

Product was shipped timely and received well before Christmas. I mistakenly assumed that film came with it, so we had to wait a bit before using it. Finally was able to take pictures today and it works fantastic! The camera is in great shape, takes wonderful photos and will be used for time and time to come!
