Description

This listing is for a PDF copy of my Lakeshore Fingerless Mitts pattern (not the finished mitts).

Every summer, my family and I spend the last weekend before Labor Day with friends on the shores of Lake Huron near Port Huron, Michigan. The beach is very rocky, but the kids love to
swim and kayak anyway, and it’s a very peaceful way to finish out the summer. These mitts grew out of sitting in the green shade at the top of the bluff watching the sparkling waves roll in to the rocky shore.

Lakeshore Fingerless Mitts can be worked in heavy fingering or sport weight yarn, depending on how heavy you prefer your mitts. Mitts worked in sport weight yarn will fit a larger hand, even worked on the same size needles. These are richly textured mitts that start with the undulating waves at the fingers, and work backward across the rocky beach to the woods at the cuff. Beads are optional.

This is an Intermediate pattern, and includes both written and charted directions. Skills needed include: knit; purl; knit through the back loop; knit 2 together; slip, slip, knit; slip2, knit 1, pass slipped stitches over; make 1 right; make 1 left; and make 1 purlwise.

I'm always available for pattern support if you have questions or need help. You can email me, or send me a private message on Ravelry, where I am Mandarella.
