Description

Hello:

Here is a lovely tea cup and saucer set from Japan, post war, 1940's to 1950's. This is a bone china, translucent footed tea cup and saucer with open work lattice or lace edge. The set has no chips, cracks or crazing. There is no loss of pattern or gold trim.

The tea cup stands 2 1/2 inches tall with a generous 4 inch diameter opening at top edge. The outside of the cup is a pearl lusterware. The fluted foot is a blue color outlined and gold. The rim of the tea cup is gold dusted. The interior of the cup is filled with the lovely pattern of yellow and white roses. The entire handle is in gold. At the bottom of the bowl of the tea cup there is a dented line which appears to be as manufactured. It is not very noticeable.

The saucer has a diameter of 5 3/4 inches. The saucer echoes the pattern of the tea cup, and has that delightful open lace edge. Saucer is trimmed in gold and dusted in gold as well. The saucer is 1 inch tall, so has some depth.

This an elegant tea cup set that would grace any collection. Why not have a tea party with some favorite friends and sip from a lovely vintage tea cup? Beautiful for a bridal shower tea party.
