Beautiful vintage German advertising pliable cardboard for the Crüwell tabak tobacco company decorated of an Indian palace that resembling the Taj Mahal in Agra, India. The factory was founded in 1705 by Johann Georg Crüwell as one of the first tobacco houses in Europe and quickly became successful the German tobacco market. The production of tobacco ended in 1983 due to a increasing use of cigarettes in Germany. It was an advertiser cardboard intended for tobacconists to present the brand products in their shops window. At the bottom it is inscribed: "Crüwell tabak - gebr. Crüwell spezialfabrik fur rauchtabak - gegr. 17bielefeld". At the back there is a cardboard stand for easy display. A beautiful collectible piece to add an exotic touch to your decor!
Measures: approx. 9.4" x 16.1" (non unfolded). Very good vintage condition, some discrete small spots, the cardboard has a very smooth round hole in the bottom that looks like it was made professionally for some unknown purpose (see photos for details).
