A Spadea Designer NA - 2139…a Misses’ Sheath Dress Sewing Pattern in Size 12.

The unprinted pattern is uncut and in original folds. The instructions are there. The mailing envelope is in very good vintage condition with tanning, stains, foxing and edge wear; the envelope flap is attached. Copyright 1965. This pattern is part of Spadea’s Designer Patterns.

The label Shannon Rodgers for Jerry Silverman was established in 1959. Rodgers had previously designed for the movies, and had worked with Silverman at Martini. Rodgers and Silverman continued their practice of adapting Paris designs into their work and were known for their Americanized versions of Balenciaga designs. They did simple, but elegant dresses, often with a single decoration to add interest. They closed around 1978.

Pattern Description

“This is Shannon Rodger's idea of a décolletage neckline, squared off by a "modesty" permanently stitched into a position and framed by a very narrow notched collar. There is the slightest hint of a sleeve in the extended drop over the shoulder. The bodice is snugly fitted with the waistline lifted in front. A straight, slim skirt is softly gathered into this waist seam at a side front and a slide fastener closes the left side opening. A "conversation piece" bow, secured on the belt at center front, has a tricky knot that has to be seen to be believed.”

Size 12: Bust 35”, Waist 25”, Hip 36”

All patterns are vintage items and sold…AS IS. Although I maintain a smoke-free and a pet-free studio, I have no control over where items have been previously. I attempt to represent my goods as honestly as possible, but sometimes something will get by. If you have any doubts about an item, E-MAIL ME! I want to make sure that you will be pleased with your purchase. I will make a refund as merchandise credit; buyer pays for return shipments.

Pattern comes in a zip 2 mil. plastic bag and is shipped in an envelope with a cardboard insert. The zip bag is great for storing the pattern!

Please note that I count the pattern pieces unless factory folded, assess the pattern’s condition and press the pattern as necessary. You will never purchase a pattern from me with “It looks like its all there” or ‘Pieces need pressing’.
