Description

Book Introduction

Recycling silverware into jewelry is a long-standing craft dating back many centuries. As the patterns on these pieces of cutlery are so beautiful, it is no wonder that they have been repurposed into unique pieces of art jewelry for so very long.

This book will guide you as you upcycle and repurpose these vintage pieces into “Silver-Wear” Jewelry™. Included within the book are twenty two projects from beginner through intermediate levels. The project directions will guide you in designing bracelets, rings, earrings and pendants using vintage forks, spoons, knives and serving pieces. Not only will you discover how to shape silverware into jewelry, but you will also incorporate skills such as polishing, buffing, setting stones, basic wire wrapping, texturizing, stamping, patina and making simple cold connections.

This book was designed as an accompaniment to Jan’s Silver-Wear Jewelry™ Courses. It is recommended that you enroll in one of her courses so that you can learn first hand how to transform these treasures into wearable pieces of art. It is also best that you have had prior experience in wire wrapping and cold connections as many of the projects require the use of these skills. For information on where her courses are offered, go to www.wrapsodyjewelry.com.
