This is an unusual and quite extraordinary view of the famous Piccadilly Circus Underground station in London. Drawn by Genoese architect and engineer Renzo Picasso, it's an enthusiastic celebration of public transport infrastructures: train “tubes,” public spaces, and pedestrian connections (entrances, booking hall, escalators, platforms). Everything is represented from a subterranean perspective, providing a three-dimensional view of the complex. The buses are shown as if they were floating on an invisible surface! Published for the first time in 1929, the year the station reopened, it celebrates the famous "Eros" fountain as a "World Centre"!

ON A CURIOUS NOTE: being meant to accompany his studies to improve the infrastructure of his hometown in Italy, this drawing has the buses intentionally represented the European way... having them driven on the right instead of the left.
