This recycled glass soap dish features a white whale in a mustard yellow sea. The sea pattern comes from a lace doily.

I call this a soap dish, but it can also serve as a butter dish, or a dish for your keys and coins.

I hand-illustrate the whale and sea motif with a fine-tipped quill pen. The paints I use are glass enamels, similar to ceramic glaze. I fire them in the kiln at 1300 degrees F and the image fuses permanently to the glass. It wont scratch or fade. You can read more about this technique in my profile.

This soap dish can handle large bars of soap. Its dimensions are 8" (20cm) x 5.5" (14cm). I ship each soap dish with clear rubber anti-skid pads. They come unattached, in case you plan to use the dish for something other than soap and do not want the pads.

The glass in this set of bowls is 100% reclaimed window glass, salvaged from a discarded window pane. I cut, shape and fuse the glass by hand, then polish it to a smooth, glossy luster.

All my glass dishes are strong and durable. I anneal the glass in a kiln for up to ten hours to give it maximum strength. They are also food-safe (free of toxic metals) and dishwasher-safe. The image fuses permanently to the glass and will never fade.
