This listing is for one black-capped chickadee, approximately 5 1/2" long and 4 1/2" tall. This perky little bird is needle felted of wool over a wire armature and may be gently posed. The tiny toes may be curled to grasp a branch or twig.

Black-capped chickadees are common to the forest as well as back yard bird feeders. They entertain with their animated antics foraging in the trees for insects and berries as they flit about my yard. In winter they travel in flocks of 6 to 10 individuals, but when springtime comes they pair off. Soon nests are constructed and lined with bits of moss. Baby chicks will hatch from six to eight white eggs with reddish brown speckles.

This little woolen sculpture will give many years of joy when handled gently and kept away from hazards such as household pets.

This little bird has been very popular!
