Description

This unique, Artisan bracelet is with made with antique African Trade Beads. Beautiful multi-colored old beads that were hand made will garner many compliments and look great on you! You will be wearing a piece of history!

African trade beads came about as the need of European traders for a currency to trade with the Africans. Beads worked wonderfully because of the affinity that African people had for various types of beads. Glass beads were particularly singled out because glass working technology had not yet been discovered in Africa. The beautiful glass beads were traded extensively in African and they were eventually traded in America with American Indians! Most of the beads were crafted in Bohemia, Holland and especially Venice, which is still famous today for its unique and rare glass beads.

The beads I use date from the 1830’s to the early 1930’s and have traveled to at least 3 continents in their trading history! They are truly beautiful, unique and the history they have is amazing! There are green, gold, coral, orange and yellow antique Trade beads in this unique bracelet. The seven Trade beads are accented with antiqued copper, brass, gold and silver metal beads. Truly, a one of a kind bracelet that feels warm and special against your skin!

Strung on copper plate wire with copper plate clasp this bracelet will fit a 7 ½” to 8 1/4” wrist.

Ships free in the United State!.
