I've been saving odds and ends of fabric for a while now. I recently started collaging them together, and loving the results. These became my Patchwork collection. This triangle shaped handbag is one of my favorite pieces.
The Gold and Stitched bag is 22" from top to bottom. The main fabric is linen that has been coated with a golden metallic sheen. It is pieced together with cotton fabrics, and a bit of nylon, linen and silk thrown in. The printed fabric pieces are original screen prints from my X-ray diffraction and I Heart Japan collections. I've added contrast stitching in a stripe pattern with light blue thread. There is a layer of quilt batting sewn to the main fabric that adds a little texture, and an interlining that makes the bag sturdy. The bag is lined with red polished cotton, and has an inside zipper pocket and a magnetic snap closure.
The striping detail is different on the front and back of the bag. I was only able to get a small amount of this shiny linen fabric, so there are only a few of these bags available!
Please hand wash or spot clean.
