Description

"There's No Place Like Kansas" (24" x 18" oil on panel)

There's no place like Kansas: a supercell goes tornadic over open farmland near Wichita. A classic scene from tornado alley.

My original oil painting depicting a tornadic supercell. I was born in Wichita, Kansas, so tornadoes are part of my heritage.

This painting was featured as an illustration in the international literary journal, Mud Season Review. Also featured as cover artwork for the music group Whistle Dixie.

My inspiration comes from my love of Nature, and from masters like Rembrandt, Claude Lorrain, JMW Turner, Philips Wouwerman, Carle Van Loo, François Lemoyne, Albert Bierstadt, and many others.
